PhD Physics, Project and Business Management

He is a physicist specialized in radiative transfer and has acquired more than 35 years of experience of project and business management in the field of applications of satellite remote sensing.

  • Since 2020 : business management of the SolaRes programme
  • Since 2019 : runs the one-person consultancy company Space4Dev
  • 2016 - 2018 : CNES, development of applications of satellite remote sensing in Africa
  • 2012 - 2015 : CNES, creation and development of the French THEIA Land Data Center
  • 2009 - 2011 : detached from CNES to IRD as technical project manager of the GMES & Africa programme at the African Union Commission (Addis Abeba)
  • 2001 - 2008 : MEDIAS-France, management of the POSTEL Land Data Centre (precursor of THEIA), co-coordination of FP6 & FP7 Geoland project (precursor of the Copernicus Land Monitoring Service)
  • 1993 - 2000 : CESBIO , land surface scientific studies
  • 1985 - 1992 : CNES engineer on optical satellite instruments
  • 1980 - 1984 : Astrophysicist at Observatoire de Paris and University of Maryland
  • 1979 : PHD Physics on radiatively driven stellar winds at Observatoire de Paris
