HYGEOS contributes to European training event<\/h1><\/div>

HYGEOS scientist, Samuel R\u00e9my<\/a><\/strong>, delivered the first online presentation during the 7th<\/sup> Joint ECMWF CAMS, ESA, EUMETSAT Training in Atmospheric Composition<\/a> on 1st<\/sup> of October.<\/p>\n

Organized by the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF<\/a>), the European Space Agency (ESA<\/a>), and the European Organization for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT<\/a>), in collaboration with the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS<\/a>), the training brought together early-career scientists, researchers, and professionals from across Europe and beyond. The event aimed to provide a comprehensive overview of atmospheric composition monitoring, from satellite observations and in situ measurements to data assimilation and forecasting.<\/p>\n

Samuel\u2019s lecture focused on advanced modeling techniques for atmospheric composition<\/strong>, with particular emphasis on the representation of aerosol emissions and deposition processes into global atmospheric composition models<\/strong>. Drawing from his extensive experience with CAMS and global air quality forecasting, he showcased recent developments in the global CAMS model and their impact on improving the accuracy of pollution events. Participants praised the session for its clarity, technical depth, and practical relevance.<\/p>\n
