style=\"--awb-content-alignment:justify;\"><p>HYGEOS participated in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thermal-eo2025.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">International Workshop on High-Resolution Thermal Earth Observation<\/a> (THERMAL-EO), held from 18<sup>th<\/sup> to 20<sup>th<\/sup> November in Toulouse, France. The event focused on the future high resolution thermal infrared missions such as the Indian-French high spatio-temporal <a href=\"https:\/\/trishna.cnes.fr\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Thermal infraRed Imaging Satellite for High-resolution Natural resource Assessment<\/a> (TRISHNA) mission, the <a href=\"https:\/\/sentinels.copernicus.eu\/web\/sentinel\/copernicus\/lstm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Land Surface Temperature Monitoring<\/a> (LSTM) mission and the <a href=\"https:\/\/sbg.jpl.nasa.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Surface Biology and Geology<\/a> (SBG) mission. We have optimized the surface temperature and emissivity retrieval algorithm <strong>DirecTES<\/strong> [<a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3390\/rs15020517\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Marcq et al. 2023<\/a>]. For that, we have developed a new generalist spectral library from the Combined ASTER MODIS Emissivity over Land (CAMEL) database [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mdpi.com\/2072-4292\/10\/4\/643\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Borbas et al., 2018<\/a>] and we have modified the selection criteria of materials in the spectral library. New DirecTES version 2 was tested with simulated Top-Of-Atmosphere THRISHNA radiances. Optimized DirecTES V2 globally reduces bias and root mean square error, with respect to the original DirecTES V1. <strong>The performances are significantly improved on desertic surfaces<\/strong> while they are not degraded in vegetated regions. All results are summarized in a <a href=\"https:\/\/hygeos.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/THERMAL-EO2025_Poster.pdf\" target=\"_blank\"
