style=\"--awb-content-alignment:justify;\"><p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/land.copernicus.eu\/en\/news\/clms-unveils-new-evapotranspiration-products\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Copernicus Land Monitoring Service<\/strong> has recently released<\/a> global maps giving insight into how water and heat move across the Earth\u2019s surface. The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/land.copernicus.eu\/en\/products\/evapotranspiration\/evapotranspiration-2025-present-raster-300m-global-10-daily-version-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">10-daily evapotranspiration<\/a><\/strong> (ETA) and the <a href=\"https:\/\/land.copernicus.eu\/en\/products\/evapotranspiration\/heat-flux-2025-present-raster-300-m-global-daily-version-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>daily heat fluxes<\/strong><\/a> (HF) products are derived from Sentinel-3 OLCI and SLSTR data at 300m resolution. They are available in <strong>near real time<\/strong>, within two days after the satellite acquisitions.<\/p>\n<p>In the context of its <a href=\"https:\/\/hygeos.com\/en\/project\/continental_ecosystems_monitoring\/\">land monitoring activities<\/a>, HYGEOS has coordinated the work between experts from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dhigroup.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DHI<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.csic.es\/en\/csic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Spanish National Research Council<\/a> who have developed the products, \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/remotesensing.vito.be\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">VITO<\/a> that operates the processing chain and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meteo.be\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Royal Meteorological Institute of Belgium<\/a> that performs the independent validation.<\/p>\n<p>The CLMS ETA product is made of the <strong>actual Evapotranspiration<\/strong> (ET) composed of the <strong>soil evaporation<\/strong> (E) and the <strong>canopy transpiration<\/strong> (T). These variables are estimated by two ET modelling frameworks as well as a combination of both in an Ensemble model. Recognized by the <a href=\"https:\/\/gcos.wmo.int\/site\/global-climate-observing-system-gcos\/essential-climate-variables\/evaporation-from-land\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Global Climate Observing System (GCOS) as an Essential Climate Variable (ECV)<\/a>, ET is fundamental for analysing the water and energy cycles. As <strong>proxy of plant water consumption<\/strong>, ET helps to plan and monitor irrigation and support food production. It can also be useful to monitor drought, to assess forest fire risk and to forecast fire spread.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-builder-row fusion-builder-row-inner fusion-row
