HYGEOS participated in the TRATTORIA Workshop
On 26th to 28th May 2025, CNES and Meteo-France organized the 3rd TRATTORIA workshop dedicated to the radiative transfer codes in the Earth atmosphere for remote sensing applications. Objectives of the workshop were to i) evaluate the needs in radiative transfer codes for the next ten years; ii) list the existing codes, their main characteristics and evolutions; iii) enhance networking of users’ communities and stimulate synergies between codes; iv) promote the existing codes and their associated databases.
Three HYGEOS experts participated to this workshop, showing the high expertise of HYGEOS in radiative transfer modelling. Mustapha Moulana and Didier Ramon presented the SMART-G performances, both in terms of simulations accuracy and of computational times, to characterise the 3D atmosphere. Recent results obtained to simulate multi-directional, multi-spectral and multi-polarized observations of 3MI were presented in a poster. They also conducted a tutorial with live demonstrations of SMART-G simulations to give an overview of the code functionalities. For that demonstration, they use, in particular, the demonstration notebook. Furthermore, Mathieu Compiègne contributed to the tutorial of ARTDECO, which is used by HYGEOS in many projects requiring simulations of satellite data.
